What is the POOL/PACT Human Resources Leadership Conference?

It is an annual event hosted by POOL/PACT Human Resources which helps members to connect with each other, learn the latest in employment best practices for public sector, and develop their personal leadership skills.

The 2024 HR Leadership Conference takes place at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, NV. The main conference sessions take place Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31, 2024. Each day starts at 8:00 AM and the last session on Day 1 ends at 4:30 (leading into the evening reception), and the last session on Day 2 will end at 2:00 PM.

There is also an afternoon preconference on Wednesday, October 29 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. See the daily agenda page for session details. 

POOL/PACT member employees who work in Human Resources and other organizational leaders who are involved in creating and managing employment practices (e.g. City or County Managers, Superintendents, Department leaders)

The conference is FREE to all POOL/PACT members. The registration link is on the main website menu. Click here to register. 

Yes, for each full day of the conference (Oct. 30 & 31) we will provide a light continential breakfast (typically beverages and pastries), and a full lunch.

*If you have special dietary needs, please inform POOL/PACT staff at least one week prior to the event. 

On Thursday, October 30, we will also host a late afternoon reception which will include cocktails and snacks from 4:30 - 6:00 PM. 


No meals will be served at the preconference sessions on the afternoon of October 29.

We also host round table sessions in which members can discuss common issues and work together to share ideas and solutions. 

Yes, this event is eligible for HR recertification credits with SHRM and HRCI. The event codes will be emailed out to participants after the event. Please see our educational credits page for details.

The general conference schedule each day begins at 8:00 AM. The last session on Day 1 ends at 4:30 PM (leading into the evening reception), and the last session on Day 2 (final day) ends at approximately 2:00 PM.
