Jonathan McGuire is an associate attorney with Simons Hall Johnston practicing primarily in employment and labor law as well as commercial litigation. Jonathan’s practice focuses on advising and advocating for clients navigating the challenges associated with employment law.
Jonathan has experience litigating and advising clients regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, confidentiality, non-disclosure, trade secrets, non-competition clauses, non-solicitation clauses, as well as a variety of other employment related issues.
Jonathan has experience representing employers before federal and state courts in Nevada, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, the Department of Labor, the Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner, and the Nevada Department of Administration – Workers Compensation Section. Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan completed a judicial clerkship with the Second Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada. While attending the University of Colorado Law School, Jonathan also benefitted from serving as a judicial extern to Justice Boatright on the Colorado Supreme Court.
Prior to attending law school, Jonathan graduated from Reno High School and is a proud alumnus of the University of Nevada. While attending the University, Jonathan was named an All-American college debater and served as the team captain of the best parliamentary debate team in the country his senior year.
For each of the past two years Jonathan has been recognized as one of Northern Nevada’s top attorneys by Nevada Business Magazine. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys attending Nevada Wolf Pack sporting events, snowboarding, and golfing.
