Mike Van Houten from POOL/PACT has received the Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology’s Award for Public Sector Innovation for his work with POOL/PACT’s e-learning platform, which has played a role in reducing liability for member entities.

Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET) is a regional networking organization that provides professional development events specifically for Northern Nevada businesses and enterprises. As an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, NCET is funded by memberships, sponsorships, and program revenues.

For nearly two decades, NCET has honored companies, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to the growth and prestige of Northern Nevada’s technology, business, and entrepreneurial support community with its annual Tech Awards.

The Public Sector Innovation Award recognizes a government employee who has demonstrated innovation, creativity, and dedication in advancing public wellbeing through technology and creative government initiatives. The award acknowledges individuals whose tech initiatives have had a significant and measurable impact on public wellbeing, quality of life, and citizen satisfaction.

Winning NCET’s Public Sector Innovation Award demonstrates POOL/PACT's commitment to providing learning opportunities for member-entities and their employees.  Members are part of a pool dedicated to excellence in public service through learning and development.

Additionally, this recognition highlights the work of Mike Van Houten in developing the eLearning environment.  Mike’s creative strategies for efficient and effective learning were instrumental to achieving this award.
