POOL/PACT Launches New Security Awareness Credential Program

Tuesday, 14 July 2026 / Published in Cyber Security

Four new role-based credentials help members strengthen cybersecurity awareness while earning professional recognition.

Every employee plays a role in protecting their organization.

Whether opening an email, processing a payment, managing employee records, or simply reporting suspicious activity, today's workforce serves as the first line of defense against cyber threats.

To help members build a stronger security culture, POOL/PACT is introducing the new Security Awareness Credential Program, a series of comprehensive, on-demand learning paths designed specifically for public agencies.

Available through Absorb LMS, the program provides practical, role-based education that equips employees with the knowledge and confidence to recognize threats, protect sensitive information, and respond appropriately when incidents occur.

Each credential requires approximately one hour of guided learning, offering participants a deeper understanding of cybersecurity best practices while recognizing their commitment to professional development.

One Credential. Four Specialized Learning Paths.

Participants earn a POOL/PACT Security Awareness Credential by completing one of four specialized learning paths.

Security Awareness Foundations

Designed for every employee, this learning path introduces the core principles of cybersecurity awareness, including password security, phishing, social engineering, safe internet practices, mobile device protection, and everyday habits that reduce cyber risk.

Human Resources Specialization

Human Resources professionals regularly manage confidential employee information and sensitive organizational records. This specialization focuses on protecting personnel data, recognizing HR-specific cyber threats, safeguarding privacy, and reducing organizational risk.

Finance Specialization

Financial professionals are among the most frequent targets of cybercrime. This learning path addresses payment fraud, business email compromise, wire transfer scams, financial controls, and best practices for protecting financial information.

Incident Reporting Specialization

Early reporting can significantly reduce the impact of a cybersecurity event. This specialization teaches participants how to recognize suspicious activity, understand reporting procedures, and respond quickly when something doesn't seem right.

Earn More Than Knowledge

Completing a Security Awareness Credential represents a meaningful professional achievement.

Participants who successfully complete a learning path will receive:

  • An official POOL/PACT Security Awareness Credential Certificate
  • A digital achievement badge displayed on their Absorb learner profile
  • Recognition of their commitment to protecting their agency and strengthening cybersecurity awareness

The credential program was designed to encourage continuous learning while giving participants a visible accomplishment they can be proud of.

Building a Stronger Security Culture Together

Cybersecurity isn't built solely through technology. It's built through informed people making smart decisions every day.

By investing just over an hour in focused, role-specific learning, members gain practical skills that help protect their agencies, coworkers, and the communities they serve.

The POOL/PACT Security Awareness Credential Program is now available in Absorb LMS for all POOL/PACT members.
