On January 21, 2022, Nevada OSHA released guidance on voluntary use of filtering facepiece respirators, (commonly known as N95 and KN95 masks) in the workplace.  The guidance in part states that employers may allow employees to voluntarily wear these masks, but employers who allow this must provide employees with the respirator user information contained in Appendix D of 29 CFR 1910.134.  This information can be provided in any written or oral format as long as the employer retains proof that the information was provided. 

While filtering facepiece respirators are not currently required under the State, employers must still ensure all employees wear face coverings in counties with substantial or high transmission rates per Governor’s Directives 047 and 048.
